Remembering former Cote St Luc mayor Bernard Lang

Cote St Luc is remembering a former mayor.

Bernard Lang has died at the age of 88.

As one person put it, he was quite the man.

"He gave me a lot of advice and I really appreciated his wisdom, his intelligence and he was somebody who built Cote St Luc", said current Cote St Luc mayor Anthony Housefather in an interview with CTV News.

Robert Libman, who succeeded Lang as mayor in 1988, says Lang approached and convinced him to run for mayor.

Lang was mayor for 22 years beginning in 1976.

He was a councilor for more than a decade before that.

Funeral services are planned for Sunday.
