A man in his 40s remains in critical condition after being struck by a car and dragged several meters in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Saturday afternoon.
The man was crossing the street at Monkland Ave. at about 4:30 p.m. when witnesses say he was hit by a vehicle heading south on Rosedale Ave.
According to Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant, the 83-year-old driver had first stopped at a stop sign on the corner, then continued through the intersection. It was then that the pedestrian was hit.
As the car continued moving, the man was dragged down the street several meters before the vehicle finally stopped.
The elderly driver has met with police officers, no word on any charges laid.
