It's a weekend filled with celebrations in Hampstead, Côte Saint-Luc and Montreal West, as they celebrate the 10th anniversary of their demerger from the city of Montreal and Hampstead's 100th anniversary.
The three municipalities will unite over the weekend to celebrate a milestone.
The mayor of Hampstead, Bill Steinberg, says a reminiscent symbol will be on display to mark the anniversary.
“We’re putting back the blue ribbons that we displayed 10 years ago in the run up to the demerger referendum as a symbol that we wanted to get our towns back,” Steinberg said.
Steinberg also points out that the referendum allowed for Hampstead to reach its 100 years.
“The fact is had we not demerged we wouldn’t be celebrating our hundredth anniversary.”
Bowser and Blue will be giving a free concert at Parc Trudeau in Cote Saint-Luc on Sunday at 4:40 PM, as part of the festivities.
