UPDATED: Power out in LaSalle and Verdun

Hydro Quebec confirms there was a power outage in parts of LaSalle and Verdun.

A downed power line is to blame.

The provincial power utility expects service to be fully restored by 5:30 AM.

Hydro Quebec wants to remind the public to stay away from downed lines and let the experts do their job.

The power outage affected about 3500 customers in Verdun and 1400 in LaSalle, though fewer than 200 residents are currently without electricity.
