UPDATE: No crime when woman sat on police officer's lap

Force says actions unacceptable and officers involved still faces disciplinary actions

Montreal police say their investigation into a picture showing a blond woman sitting on a police officer's lap in his cruiser — has determined that no criminal activity occurred in the patrol car.

Commander Ian Lafrenière says the force opened a criminal investigation which confirmed two young women, one seventeen years of age, were in the cruiser with two police officers.

But he says evidence, including witnesses and video footage, concluded no criminal activity occurred in the patrol car.

“It was mentioned that there was nudity and sexual activity, but that has been ruled out by witnesses and evidence.”

He says the actions were unacceptable and both officers, who have five to six years experience, still face disciplinary action.

“We’re doing a complete investigation now in terms of disciplinary action, what will be the result of that I don’t know but for us loud and clear the first day that we saw the actions we said it was inappropriate.”

"no criminal activity occurred in the car"... So if a cop see anyone with a bare-shouldered woman on their lap in their car on a dark street, they won't come knocking on the window for suspicion of criminal activity?

Even if there was a video where you could clearly see the cop having sex with the teenage girl, the cops would still get away with it.

But obviously the girl was just sitting there because that cop is actually Santa Claus. Its the only reasonable and legal reason she would be there.
