The Surete du Quebec says a 79-year-old man from Lachine has died after an accident that occurred on Highway 20 at about 9 p.m. in the area of Woodland Avenue.
According to SQ spokesperson Ann Mathieu, the speed of the vehicle might be a factor, and the man could have been driving impaired. An investigation is underway.
The second incident took place on Highway 40 near Saint-Miche about 30 minutes later and involves a 56-year-old Montreal woman.
In both cases, drivers were traveling alone and no other vehicles were involved.
