UPDATE: SPVM make 12 arrests in illegal drug and alcohol operation

Montreal police have made 12 arrests as part of an early morning raid in Lachine yesterday for an illegal alcohol and drug operation.

In executing search warrants at an apartment on Camille St., police and border security agents found crystal meth, marijuana and alcohol being sold illegally inside.

"There were calls [in the weeks leading up to the raid] concerning noise complaints, concerning fighting, concerning people that were hurt, maybe stabbed sometimes, so police officers know this place," explained Montreal police spokesperson Danny Richer to CTV News.

"They've been there many times in the past few weeks."

Six of the dozen suspects were released on the condition of appearing in court at a later date.

The other six remain in custody.
