More highway roadwork this weekend

There will be more roadwork on Montreal highways this weekend.

"On the St-Pierre interchange, there will be a complete closure of the ramp leading from Highway 20 westbound to the south shore, because it's related [to the closures] on the Mercier Bridge," said Transport Quebec spokesperson Mario St-Pierre.

As of last weekend, only one lane is open on the Mercier Bridge in each direction on weekends from Friday at 11:00 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m. This will go on until August 11.

There will also be a complete closure of the 720 eastbound from Friday at 11:59 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m. between the exits for St. Laurent Blvd. and Panet St.

There will also be closures of on ramps to Highway 20 eastbound from De La Cathedrale St., Duke St. and the Bonaventure Expressway.

There's also good news for motorists, St-Pierre added.

The ramp leading from Highway 15 Northbound to the westbound Highway 20 will be opening as early as Saturday morning.

The westbound 720 ramp to Highway 15 North will also open this weekend, as well as the 15 South ramp to the eastbound 720.
