UPDATE: Man dies after being shot in Côte-des-Neiges

Montreal police are investigating a murder in Côte-des-Neiges after gunshots rang out just after 1 a.m. this morning in the area of Victoria Ave. at the corner of Mackenzie St.

A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital with two gunshot wounds to the upper body. He died later in hospital.

Police spokesperson Danny Richer says there was a get-together at a restaurant near the scene.

"Investigators are meeting with witnesses trying to get any information [to determine] if there`s something between the victim and the get-together," he said, adding a firearm was found at the restaurant.
