Pedestrian, 81, hit by car on Queen Mary

An 81-year-old man is in hospital after he was hit by a car this afternoon.

At around 12:20 P.M. the man was walking north across Queen Mary Rd. at the corner of Westbury St.

He was then struck by a vehicle heading east driven by a 26-year-old woman.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

Montreal Police spokesperson François Collard says the man is now in critical but stable condition.

The driver was treated for nervous shock at the scene.

Accident investigators are still trying to determine the exact cause of the incident.

    Didn't a fatal accident involving a car and a pedestrian just happen at this intersection mere weeks ago? Maybe there is a problem?

    The cause of the accident? Traffic chaos maybe?Isn't this the second accident in a week or so on Queen Mary?
