What's open and closed on Canada Day

Happy Canada Day! Here's who else will be on holiday, and who isn't.

Banks, courts, federal, provincial and most municipal offices, including Acces-Montreal, will be closed.

In most boroughs, garbage and recycling will run normally.

The STM will be running on a holiday schedule, and Laval and Longueuil transit will be on a Saturday schedule.

And while most retail outlets will be closed, most grocery stores will be open, although not necessarily for regular hours.

The city's arenas, pools, libraries and cultural centres will be open, although the borough will determine for how long.

And no holidays for parking: meters will still have to be fed, at the usual rates.
