UPDATE: Woman dies in multi-vehicle crash on 40 in Pointe-Claire

A 66-year old woman from Kirkland is dead after a crash on highway 40 West near the St Jean exit in Pointe-Claire.

Her name is expected to be released on Friday.

"An automobile ran into the back of a large flatbed trailer that was parked on the side of the highway," said Urgences Santé's Bob Lamle.

"The driver was ... at the back of the truck to do some repairs", added Lamle.

He says several other people suffered minor injuries.

"The driver of the truck was taken to hospital, but more for preventive reasons. He had no visible major trauma, was consicous, and was transported to hospital in stable state", added Lamle.

Four vehicles were involved, the tractor trailor, the car that crashed into it as well as a black SUV and a compact car.

The accident triggered a traffic mess for sometime.
