Over the years, there have been a lot of tongue in cheek suggestions about a new vocation for Montreal's aging Olympic Stadium.
Now, we are learning that the Olympic Installations Board was serious enough about one to have invested in a study.
The OIB paid $22,000 dollars to check out the feasibility of turning the stadium into a giant movie sound stage.
La Presse reports that the study was commissioned last fall but the OIB is refusing to divulge the results.
Turning the stadium into a movie studio was not one of the 22 recommendations made after public consultations in the Bissonnette report - it favoured ideas related to recreation and tourism.
The stadium has been used for filming more than 200 times since 1994.
