Part of Westmount under a boil water advisory

There's a preventative boil water order for some Westmount residents.

Those living on Dorchester, Clandeboye, Weredale Park, Staynor, Prospect, Greene Avenue south of Dorchester, Columbia, Bruce, and Halliwell are advised to boil their water for at least one minute before consumption.

Residents of this area are being advised that boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice cubes, preparing food or washing dishes.

The city says its routine water testing turned up a "non-conforming" test for the area.

The earliest the advisory can be lifted is Saturday morning, once another round of testing is done.
