Germany won the World Cup in extra time last night.

Fans of Germany's team gathered at Montreal's Bier Markt on René Lévesque at Drummond to watch the game.

113 minutes into the game the only goal was scored by Germany's Mario Götze and local fans went wild.

Frankfurt expat Barbara Schlicksbier was dancing under a German flag.

"I'm feeling great, this is the best feeling in the world," she said "we deserved this so much to win."

Kyle from Australia has family of German descent.

"Before we were on edge and sweating and crazy, but then that happened and everyone was crying and so happy, it's wonderful."

This is Germany's first World Cup in 24 years.
