Man charged with abandoning 5-year-old son to go drinking in a bar

A 29-year-old Quebec City man is facing charges after he allegedly left his 5-year-old son home alone last night so he could go out to a local bar.

The child was found, wearing only underwear, wandering the streets of the Quebec City district of Charlesboug.

He was shivering in the cold when a police patrol noticed him on a busy street corner.

The youngster has been returned to his mother.

The father faces charges of child abandonment.

It will be interesting to see what happens in this case compared to those " mothers " who left their children in the hot cars.
To me, child abandonment applies in all these cases.
Will this father get a $60 fine? I dont think so, it will be a much harsher penalty.
Then I would like the differences between the two explained, to justify.
