WATCH: Montrealer Mai Duong still looking for stem cell match

An update on a story we told you about last week.

34 year old Mai Duong, wife and mother, has taken to social media, in hopes of finding a compatible Asian bone marrow donor.

Duong has an aggressive form of leukemia.

Her husband, Vlad Stesin tells CTV that her efforts have brought to light the lack of non-Caucasian stem cell donors.

" We seemed to have raised awareness for this. "

" People were not aware that bone marrow transplants are not necessarily done from siblings and family that, a lot of it, and actually the best option is just from a compatible donor from somewhere else in the world."

Hema Quebec says more than 100 people have asked to be tested.
