Cautionary tale about buying cars on-line

A lesson to be cautious about what you buy from sites like Kijiji.

A woman from the Laurentians, north of Montreal, is out several thousand dollars, after she tried to buy a car from the popular classified listing website.

The seller convinced the woman to deposit $4,200 to a Western Union account, before she even saw the car.

The representative at a Wal Mart, reportedly told the woman no one could withdraw the funds without a password she chose, according to QMI.

That money, however, quickly disappeared from the account.

Naive or stupid? Who pays for something without seeing it, especially a used car from a stranger? Always use common sense.

I don't feel bad for her one bit. She was dumb enough to give a total stranger $4,200 for a product that she didn't even see. I hope she learned her lesson (which she should've been learned a long time ago).

Why did she even contact the media about this? I would be embarrassed.
At least she didn't tell the part where she gave the guy the Western Union password.

She sent money before seeing the car. Just plain stupid.

I've seen these ads before. example : Mercedes for sale. year something not to old. $5000 firm. Must sell leaving country. The car is located somewhere far and will be shipped to you at no additional cost.

Every time I see these ads I contact kijiji.
