Microsoft to cut 18,000 jobs

Microsoft is doing some restructuring and will cut 18,000 jobs in the process.

14 percent of the company's workforce will lose their job over the next 12 months.

Microsoft has 11 offices in Canada. One in Quebec City, another in Montreal.

Microsoft says employees affected will be advised as soon as possible.

The majority of the cuts are to eliminate overlaps with Nokia, which Microsoft bought in April.
