Fight against Hamas far from over: Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that Israel's fight against Hamas is far from over.

The Israeli military says 13 soldiers have been killed in fighting with Hamas militants in Gaza.

The military says the soldiers were killed during its ground offensive Sunday.

The deaths bring the total Israeli military casualties to 18.

Two civilians have been killed by mortar and rocket attacks on Israel.

Dozens of soldiers have been wounded.

At least 425 Palestinians have been killed in the near two-week conflict that shows no signs of stopping.

No fewer than 65 Palestinians died in clashes today.

A Gaza City neighbourhood came under heavy tank fire this morning as Israel expanded its ground assault against Hamas militants.

Reports say at least 30 people were killed and five bodies are buried under the rubble of homes that were destroyed.
