Early this morning, accident investigators remained on the scene of the fiery tanker truck crash in Charlemagne, northeast of Montreal.
They're trying to determine why the tanker went out of control on Highway 640 and hit another vehicle before leaving the road and exploding.
The driver was killed.
Provincial police spokesman Gregory Gomez Del Prado says the tanker was carrying a flammable substance but he can't say precisely what.
Environment Quebec says firefighters believe the contents of the tank burned off completely.
