Fraud trial of former Lieutenant-Governor suspended

Quebec Court Judge Carol St-Cyr this morning agreed to suspend the fraud trial of former Quebec Lieutenant-Governor Lise Thibault until September 2nd.

Thibault's lawyer, Marc Labelle, presented the judge with a medical report this morning, advising a 30-day rest for his client after she suffered an apparent attack of epilepsy overnight.

Thibault faces charges of fraud and breach of trust, in connection with almost $700,000 in expense claims while in office from 1997 to 2007.
