Montreal police are investigating the city's 18th murder of the year this morning in an east end borough.
SPVM spokesperson François Collard says officers were called to the Saint-Michel borough last night around 10:15 p.m. after a man in his 40s was reported lying in the street.
"Once on scene they found the man, who was deceased...death by gunshot to the upper body," he said.
A perimeter on St-Michel Blvd. was established between Highway 40 and Villeray St., where investigators were on scene searching for witnesses.
