Major Israeli troop withdrawl from Gaza

A major Israeli troop withdrawl from Gaza on Sunday.

Senior political sources in Jerusalem said the pullout effectively marks the end of the country's ground offensive in the embattled region.

The Israeli army says has destroyed about 30 Hamas tunnels that can be used for cross border attacks.

It's estimated that in the next two days all Israeli troops will move out of urban and residential areas across the strip.

Some soldiers and tanks will likely stay stationed for a few weeks in a closed military zone to be created by Israel on the Gaza side of the border for added protection against Hamas tunnel attacks.

The Israeli airstrikes, however, continue.
