A fire in Lachine Monday night is being investigated by Montreal police.

Spokesperson Danny Richer said the fire is being considered suspicious.

Richer said the Montreal fire department could not determine the cause of the fire and that the arson squad will be on the scene Tuesday morning.

The fire started on the second floor of an apartment building on Saint-Jacques St. around 8:30 P.M.

No injuries were reported.

The building has commercial spaces on the first floor with apartments on the second.

Most of the apartments were vacant.

The fire department says a total of 21 emergency vehicles were at the scene.

It was put under control just after 10 p.m
