The Transportation Safety Board final report into the Lac Megantic train disaster will be released August 19th.
The derailment of the Montreal, Maine & Atlantic freight train in July of last year killed 47 people.
In January, the Board issued a preliminary report pointing out the inherent weakness and danger associated with DOT-111 tanker cars.
The recommendations led to the immediate removal of 5000 of the rail cars.
Transport Canada also ordered all other remaining DOT-111 rail cars used for the transportation of crude and ethanol to be removed or upgraded within the next three years.
