The Surete du Quebec says 14 people died on Quebec's roads during the recently-completed two-week construction holiday — that's three more deaths than last year.
The force came out with its final construction holiday numbers today.
9 deaths were recorded during the 2012 holiday, while 23 deaths were tallied in 2011.
It also says it handed out 26,500 tickets over the two weeks for things like speeding, not wearing a seatbelt, and using a cellphone while driving.
Patrollers also arrested 360 people for driving under the influence of booze and drugs.
