Montreal police officers were involved in a high-speed chase early this morning.
According to police spokesperson Danny Richer, officers pulled over a man around 3:10 a.m. this morning in Pointe-Claire near Highway 20 and St-Jean Blvd.
Richer was unable to provide details on the driver or why he was originally pulled over, but while being interrogated by officers, he says the driver made a quick escape from detention.
Officers chased the suspect into Beaconsfield, with the runaway driver reaching speeds over 150 km/h.
The driver was apprehended on Pine St.
He will face charges including driving under the influence, Richer said.
"No police officers were injured and we count only light damage to [the two police] cars during the intervention," he continued.
The suspect will be released on bail, with the promise to appear in court at a later date.
