UPDATED: 2 year old hit by car in Cote des Neiges

A two-year-old child was hit by a car on Mackenzie St. in Cote des Neiges Thursday afternoon.

Montreal police spokesperson Simon Delorme said there is no threat to the boys life.

Around 4:30 P.M. the child was with his mother coming home from daycare. A witness said the mother was folding the stroller when the boy began running.

A car that was heading east on Mackenzie St. near Cote des Neiges Rd. struck the child in the middle of the road.

The 36-year-old man driving the vehicle was arrested. Delorme said he left the scene and returned later. The man met with investigators Thursday night.

No word on whether the man will be charged.
