Dollard-des-Ormeaux building evacuated after gas leak

A commercial building in Dollard-des-Ormeaux was evacuated last evening after a motorist lost control of her car and ruptured a gas line at a commercial building on Sources Blvd. near Anselgme Lavagine St.

Montreal police spokesperson François Collard says it remains unclear what caused the crash.

"She ran into the front of the building, and subsequently by doing so, she probably ruptured the gas line," he said.

"That building was evacuated, and from that, two people were treated for gas inhalation."

The 41-year-old driver was driving at a slow speed upon impact, and she could have made a last minute maneuver before crashing, according to Collard.

The investigation is ongoing.
