Daycare waiting lists to be merged into a single one

The Family minister is set to implement a one-stop registry for parents trying to get their children into seven-dollar-a-day-daycare.

The aim is to merge all waiting lists from small centres and private daycares, and compile a single waiting list for all of Quebec.

Unions aren't happy with the directive, calling it unjust, because the new formula doesn't address problems of accessibility.

Meanwhile, government legislation forcing all parties involved to participate in the program is set to be introduced this fall.
