A new bypass bridge linking the island of Montreal to Nun's Island is slated to open to traffic this fall.

The bridge, with seven traffic lanes and a bike path, is expected to help improve traffic in the Champlain Bridge corridor.

The new bridge, which has been under construction since the summer of 2013, will divert traffic from the current connecting bridge, which will be torn down and rebuilt.
