Want home mail delivery? Get a doctor's note

As Montreal-area homeowners prepare for the transition away from home mail delivery, and to community mailboxes, there is an option available to ensure that the mail will still be delivered to your door.

Get a doctor's note.

The Journal de Montreal says people with physical disabilities can ask for mail delivery to be maintained, but Canada Post may ask for written confirmation from a physician.

They will have to detail their disability and explain how it prevents them from walking down the street.

The prospect of having the post office asking for personal medical information has raised eyebrows at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

A spokesman says they were not consulted on the matter and will ask Canada Post for clarification because of concerns over the nature of the information being sought.

    HOW STUPID!!!!!
I hate when a government idiot makes a BAD decision and won't listen to better alternatives.
What's wrong with alternative day deliveries????? I don't need mail every day.
