A man suspected of arson was arrested Wednesday in connection with fires set in St-Michel.
Montreal Police arrested 42-year-old Jean Hallé. He is suspected in five criminal fires that took place between April and May near St-Michel and Crémazie Sts. in the Villeray-St-Michel-Parc-Extension borough.
The fires were started at night, usually in trash cans or garbage containers, and on one occasion a restaurant was targeted.
Hallé appeared in court on Wednesday and is facing charges of arson with damage to property and arson with disregard to human life.
