26-year-old man arrested after hit-and-run

A 26-year-old man has been arrested after a hit-and-run in Montreal early Monday.

Around midnight police received a call about a hit and run at the corner l'Acadie blvd. and de Liège.

Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture said the suspect was driving north on l'Acadie, when for some unknown reason he swerved and changed lanes rear-ending another car waiting at a stop light. The impact caused a domino effect which damaged two other vehicles.

Couture said two people were taken to hospital but there is no danger to their lives.

The suspect fled the scene. Officers were able to track him down and arrest him at his home in Lachine.

He could face charges of hit-and-run, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
