Police investigating early morning fire

The Montreal police arson squad is investigating a fire at a restaurant on Saint-Michel blvd. Thursday morning.

Police spokesperson Manuel Couture said around 1:15 A.M. police were called to a criminal fire at a restaurant on Saint-Michel blvd. near Champdoré.

Witnesses told police they saw two suspects quickly leaving the scene after throwing what could be an incendiary device into the restaurant.

12 apartments were evacuated while firefighters put out the flames.

Damages caused by the fire were limited to the restaurant.

No one was hurt.
