Quebecers divided over wild Montreal city hall protest: poll

It seems Quebecers are split following Monday's wild protest at Montreal city hall.

According to an online SOM poll, 47 percent of voters said the raucous intrusion lowered the respect they had for firefighters and police officers.

Yves Francoeur of the Montreal Police Brotherhood says officers were only following orders in letting the protesters go into the building.

The same survey also shows nearly half of respondents saying the government has their full support in imposing planned pension changes.

Nearly 40 percent oppose the proposed reforms, 15 percent express no opinion.
