Two gunmen made off with almost half a million dollars after a Hollywood-style robbery in Brossard Thursday night.

At around 11:00 P.M. two Garda agents were held up by two suspects wearing Halloween masks outside the Royal Bank of Canada at the Place Portabello on Taschereau blvd.

Ghislain Vallieres of the Longueuil police department said the suspects used pepper spray to subdue and disarm the agents before leaving with the money.

"They spread some pepper spray in the direction of the two agents and they have been transported to the hospital to be treated," said Vallieres, "Two suspects arrived and surprised them with guns and threatened them with their weapons."

No shots were fired.

Investigators are on the scene and hope to have more information on the type of car they may have used, Vallieres said.

According to police, the thieves stole $431,000. RBC has not confirmed the exact amount.
