Charbonneau Commission under budget

The commission probing corruption in Quebec's construction industry is keeping a tight rein on its spending.

The Gazette is reporting that the Charbonneau Commission has so far spent about $33-million gathering evidence about graft, putting it under-budget by several million dollars.

The commission has one more round of public hearings scheduled before it drafts its report. The release is scheduled for next April.
