Runaway horse trots down Highway 25

A horse that went on the lam from its stable on the North Shore nearly made it onto the Island of Montreal before it was captured early this morning.

Provincial police were dispatched after several motorists spotted the horse trotting along Highway 25 near the 440 in Laval.

By the time patrol officers caught up, the animal was heading across the the Highway 25 bridge to Montreal.

They shut down the bridge, then corralled the horse and asked a passing motorist with a closed trailer to haul the animal off the highway.

The horse suffered minor injuries during its five kilometre trek.

Will the horse or the horse owner be charged the toll for crossing the private bridge?
