Damage is said to be in the millions after a strip mall in south-shore St. Hilaire was apparently set on fire this morning.

Employees of a pizzeria located inside the mall on Highway 116 noticed someone running away from the building as an explosion went off in the restaurant at around 10:30 this morning.

The blaze spread quickly to most of the rest of the structure, which includes, among other things, a Bank of Montreal branch, which was completely engulfed by flames.

Two firefighters, a father and son, were injured when a brick wall collapsed. No one inside the mall was injured.

Police are now investigating. They have not yet zeroed in on a possible suspect.
