Car plows into West Island grocery store entrance

A West Island grocery store was the scene of a freak accident Friday evening.

It happened in a small strip mall in Pierrefonds, at Marche Sharm.

A motorist was supposed put on the brakes as he approached the store, but instead pushed on the gas.

"Obviously, broken glass everywhere. A lot of people have been gathered about, just looking at what happened. There's minimal damage to the store. I don't think he went much more than about 10 feet into the store. So the damage is essentially the exterior glass", said West Island resident Arthur Catalfamo, who was on the scene and called CJAD News.

No one was hurt.
