He is co-operating with police.

Police are asking for any for any witnesses to come forward.

Earlier in the night, a 36 year old man was sent to hospital with major injuries after an altercation in Ville Marie.

Police were called at about 10 o'clock to the corner of Viger and St. Urbain.

So far there aren't any suspects in the case.

The victim's injuries are not life threatening.

And in St. Paul-Ile-aux-Noix, in the Monteregie, a 54-year old driver died after losing control of his vehicle on 16th avenue near Highway 223.

Joyce Kemp of the Surete du Quebec says around 10:30, for an unknown reason, the man ended up in a ditch before hitting a tree.

Rescuers had to use the jaws of life to remove him from the vehicle, which landed on its roof.

He was in cardiac arrest when taken out, then later died in hospital.
