A 36-year-old man was taken to hospital after an altercation downtown.
Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture said at approximately 10:00 P.M. there was an altercation involving several individuals at the corner Viger Ave. and Saint-Urbain Rd.
Investigators were dispatched to the scene.
The man was struck by a blunt object causing major injuries to his upper body, said SPVM spokesperson Simon Delorme
The victim was transported to the hospital where his condition is listed as stable.
