Security beefed up at city hall

Security has been beefed up at city hall, after dozens of city employees trashed a council meeting last month.

At least six police officers have been assigned to the main hall when the executive committee meets.

Police charged 44 employees after the protest on August 18th, 41 of them were firefighters.

According to a report in Le Journal, police are reevaluating the risk on a day-to-day basis.

Many unionized city workers, including police and firefighters, are upset with the provincial government's plans on pension reform.
