Mike says: I altered the recipe a bit, instead of the slow cooker I did it on the stove - first part about an hour, second about 15 minutes. I used soup base instead of water instead of the milk and cream I used 3 cups of 2% milk and a little butter and added leftover mashed potatoes with the milk
