The Quebec Coalition for Tobacco Control is aiming its sights on the new Vogue brand of cigarettes, marketed towards women.

The coalition says it's time to end manipulation by tobacco companies targetting women with the help of clearly "feminine" packaging.

It argues it's scandalous that we allow an industry to associate a product with fashion and feminity when that product kills half of its users.

The coalition says this type of aggressive marketing needs a swift and muscled response from the government. It's demanding that the health ministry apply the law banning life-style advertising on cigarette packaging. It also wants neutral packaging for tobacco products.
