If you suspect that you might wind up needing hospital care in future, this story will interest you.

A dire prediction for the nursing profession in Quebec is emerging from a CROP survey.

It shows that two-thirds of nurses over the age of fifty intend to take early retirement from the public system within the next three years.

Many will head to the better working conditions of the private sector.

The Quebec Order of Nurses calls that scenario a catastrophe.

The Order wants Quebec to start offering incentives to keep older nurses within the public health care system, including more flexible hours and no mandatory overtime.
