A 67-year-old daycare operator in West Island Dollard-des-Ormeaux is accused of sexually molesting some of his young charges.

"I'm still in shock."

Identifying himself only as Chris, this West Island father of two little girls only found out about the allegations about their daycare operator when the agency that placed them called to say the home daycare was shut down after complaints by other parents. That's when they heard about other cases corroborating their five-year-old daughter's accounts of alleged inappropriate touching.

"It's disgusting. We hear it, we feel real bad, but it's completely different when it hits home."

William Parsons faces several counts related to sexual touching, involving as many as three girls, as recently as this past March. He didn't show up for a scheduled court appearance, another is set for next month.

Chris and his wife are now looking around for another daycare and he says this time, they'll be more thorough and suggests other parents do the same.

"Do your background checks. If you have your suspicions, don't let it fly, bring it up."

Chris says there should be more security and background checks and tougher laws to prevent this type of crime.

"I really wish the government, the justice system would do something."

"What about my child? She's five-years-old. The stuff that he's done is going to affect her for the rest of her life. He robbed my daughter's innocence. She's just my little girl."
