Education Ministry got help with English textbooks
The Education Minister is taking the credit but it turns out she had a little help in getting English textbooks into high schools in time for the back-to-school. The books will be available for the grade ten history and math courses. Education Minister Michelle Courchesne says it was a matter of leaning on the publishers, but the math material was translated and printed by the group LEARN, which supports English education in this province. And that's only enough to get the students through to January and LEARN says it will continue its work. As well, there is still no English textbook for the optional science and tech course and only a smattering of printed material for the new ethics and religious culture course.
